There are two cities you can visit in the UK that are London and Manchester. Both of these cities are great tourist attractions for people all over the world. However, if you live in the UK and wish to visit one of these fantastic cities, you are struggling with which to visit.
London
London is the capital city of England, which is one of the reasons why it is one of the most visited cities in the UK. However, there is a lot more to it than just that. Firstly, it is full of historical buildings all across the capital. Not to mention a good mixture of modernised buildings as well.
Although the main attraction to London is the historical architecture, there are some amazing modern buildings such as the Shard.
London also has theatres showcasing shows throughout the year such as the Royal Opera House, Sadler’s Wells, National Theatre, Barbican, the London Coliseum and the Old Vic. Plus, some of these theatres have been around since the 1700s!
London is also well-known for its amazing flavours, including Michelin-starred restaurants. There are restaurants all over the capital with a great variety of price ranges, so you are sure you can find a place to eat which is affordable for you.
The hotels are something extraordinary as well, with many of them located in central London, a prime location for visiting luxury fashion stores and high-end restaurants.
If you want to enjoy a long weekend in London, we recommend parking in central London before you explore the many wonderful sights that London has to offer.
It isn’t just the architecture that is worth witnessing. We also recommend you visit some of the parks it has to offer. Hyde Park is one of those that is worth a visit, especially with the Knightsbridge parking lot being so close to it.
Manchester
Manchester is the capital of the north. That’s what people think who live in the North of England anyway. This city is well-known for the football teams it has produced as well as its music scene. However, there is a lot more to Manchester other than football and music.
Manchester is also a popular city for its historical architecture. Plus, thanks to the Metrolink system, it is easier to move around this city.
Like London, Manchester also has some amazing museums which you can visit plus has some award-winning restaurants.
The nightlife has something for everyone as well, with everything close to one another. If you want to enjoy a casual pint in some of its oldest pubs. Not to mention that you will find very well-priced pints for under £4, something that is unheard of in London.
Which One Is For You?
There are positives and negatives to both cities. If you want somewhere that is less busy, easy to get around and, everything in one place that is affordable, Manchester is the better choice for you. However, if budget is not an issue then London is certainly the place to visit for you.
